Audio

We recommend connecting your STEIGER DYNAMICS system to your display via DisplayPort or HDMI. This allows the enjoyment of lossless multi-channel or object-based (bitstreamed) HD Audio, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby ATMOS, DTS Master Audio, and DTS:X. Alternative methods include a direct connection to a TV, AV Receiver, or to any external Audio system (native 5.1 / upmixed 7.1 surround sound via optical S/PDIF or 3.5mm analog audio jacks). We also offer additional dedicated sound cards for high-end analog or studio usage. Switching between sound outputs can be done in Windows or in supported apps.

CPU Cooling

We solely use fans with high-precision ultra-quiet bearings and a quietness-optimized blade design. The fan speed is variable depending on system temperatures. This allows for maximum cooling performance while keeping our systems ultra-quiet during idle, low, and medium-load usage scenarios.

Operating System

Please select your preferred edition of Windows. We recommend Windows 11 Home 64 bit for most use cases. Windows 11 Pro provides additional features like receiving Remote Desktop Connections, Bitlocker drive encryption, and domain joining. If you would like an operating system language other than English, please specify your preference in the comment field at the bottom of this page.

Microsoft Windows 11 - 64-Bit, maximum privacy settings enabled. Required for Wifi 7 support.

Media Center/Player Software

Select your Media Center / Player software of choice below. A Media Center is an optional interface in Windows which allows you to comfortably play and manage your media files, including movies, music, photos, live TV, streaming channels and more. In addition, all Media Centers support phone/tablet control (iOS, Android, Windows Phone) and programmable remote controls like the Logitech Harmony. We recommend:
- CyberLink Power DVD enables playback of HD and 3D Blu-rays and supports 7.1 Dolby TrueHD / dts-HD lossless bitstreamed digital surround sound
- JRiver Media Center or MPC-BE player with MadVR plugin for ultimate hardware-based video and audio rendering quality. JRiver also supports Over-The-Air (OTA) and non-encrypted cable live TV.
- Kodi Media Center (former XBMC) provides the highest configurability and plugin support
- Plex Home Theater / Server is the most easy-to-use Media Center and allows pre-configured streaming to mobile devices. Plex does not support additional plugins.
- Shark007 Codec Pack and x64 Components is free and enables playback of a wide range of audio and video file types, incl. divx, flac, flv, mkv, ogg, xvid, mp3, and many more.
