When conceptualizing the LEET™ chassis, all different sorts of materials and surface finishings were thouroughly considered. In the end, a clear decision was made in favor of aluminum which constitutes the best solution in the sum of its characteristics. It is light-weight, durable, corrosion resistant, odourless, and 100% recyclable.
The LEET™ full aluminum chassis has a one-piece shell with an unmatched wall thickness of 0.2 inches (5 mm). In the production process, all exterior parts are hand-brushed, making every chassis one of a kind. As a final step, all parts are anodized to increase the natural corrosion-resistance and to give the chassis its final color and unrivaled finish. This makes it a perfect match for existing home theater devices and a valuable enhancement to the living room.
ASUS' top-of-the-line Z97 and X99 motherboards, latest Intel i5, i7, and Xeon processors with up to 18 cores, AMD FirePro and NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards in up to triple-configurations, up to 128 GB high-speed Quad-Channel DDR4 memory, SSDs in RAID 0, and up to 24 TB Western Digital storage elevate the LEET™ into a league of its own.
Liquid Cooled Efficiency & Silence
The LEET™ is the world's first Workstation for the living room to solely use liquid cooling solutions for its central processing unit (CPU). Compared to standard air cooling used in regular PCs, liquid cooling dissipates heat extremely efficiently. This allows for optimal performance while making the system ultra-silent - exactly what one would expect from a living room computer. A maintenance-free, pre-sealed liquid cooling solution with a 12cm radiator is used as a standard option.
For ultimate performance, efficiency, and aesthetics, Steiger Dynamics developed the optional LEET™ custom liquid cooling solution with Swiftech, leading manufacturer of advanced cooling components. The LEET™ custom liquid cooling solution consists of a combined pump/CPU-block, one single and one dual-radiator, and allows the integration of graphics cards into the cooling loop. Furthermore, it allows for the creation of one's own interior color scheme, by customizing tubing and fitting colors.
All liquid cooling solutions feature variable fans, automatically adapting their speed according to system temperatures. This advanced technology allows radiator/chassis fans to spin as low as 700 rpm on idle and low load levels, being completely inaudible.
The LEET™ is available with an optional fully transparent lid window, allowing the setup to be displayed in style. The large acrylic window features the same clean design as the chassis itself, and has a completely flat outer surface without any plastic bezel or rivets.
For interior chassis lighting, switch-activated light strips are available in different color options. They feature 66 LEDs, illuminating the system's interior directly or indirectly (UV-light).
The window has a size (W x D) of 14.4 x 12.4 inches (365 x 315mm), positioned 1.6 inches (40 mm) from both the side and the back edge.
Tailor-Made Custom Cables
Pursuing a no-compromise approach, the LEET™ can be optionally configured with highest quality custom-made cables and cable management for the drives and the power supply unit. These cables are custom-tailored to precisely fit the LEET™ chassis. This avoids any cable excess, accounting for an extremely clean look and optimized air flow, helping to keep chassis temperatures down.
All custom power supply cables are black, single-sleeved and vary in length depending on the configured motherboard, graphics card, and their respective connector positions. All custom drive cables (SSD/HDD/Blu-ray) are ultra-durable, shielded SATA3 cables.
Monitor System Parameters
The system’s integrated 7” Samsung front screen shows the exclusive LEET™ Monitor App, an integral part of the chassis design. The pre-configured app is customizable via a comfortable user interface and is designed to be easily readable from the couch. It has a clock function and constantly monitors system parameters such as uptime, used and available drive space, RAM capacity utilization as well as CPU/GPU clocks, load levels, and temperatures. This function is implemented with professional users in mind - always eager to have current system parameters at hand. In addition, the LEET Monitor App allows you to dim or completely turn off the display when watching movies in a dark environment.
The recommended way to connect the LEET™ is via DVI/HDMI through the Audio/Video Receiver (AVR) to the TV. This allows the enjoyment of lossless (HDMI/DVI bitstreaming) HD Audio® and Dolby TrueHD™ (7.1 or higher). Alternatively, the LEET™ can be connected directly to the TV via HDMI, DisplayPort or DVI. It can then either use the TV speakers or any external Audio system (native 5.1/upmixed 7.1 surround sound via optical S/PDIF or analog audio jack (to RCA)).
For connecting external devices, the LEET™ comes with a hinged front panel, integrating two USB 3.0 connectors, a SDHC Card reader, and two variable HD Audio® in/out connectors.
The back panel features 6-channel analog and optical S/PDIF HD Audio® connectors, and - depending on the motherboard - Thunderbolt, up to six USB 3.0, and up to eight USB 2.0 connectors.
Lightning-Fast System Drives
The LEET™ features a solid-state drive (SSD) as standard equipment, configured as a primary system drive. SSDs use special flash memory, retaining data without power. Compared with conventional hard disk drives (HDDs), SSDs are less susceptible to physical shock, silent, and have much lower access time with higher read/write speeds.
The LEET™ can be configured with additional SSD system drives. Two or more drives allow for an optional RAID configuration (Redundant Array of Independent Disks). In RAID 1 mode, one drive is mirroring the other, providing maximum data security and double read speeds. In RAID 0 mode, both drives are combined to one logical drive, doubling read/write speeds and IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) of one drive.
All our SSDs have won multiple awards and boast industry leading reliabilty and performance. A RAID 0 configuration handles up to 190,000 IOPS and read/write speeds of over 1,100 MB/s, delivering unprecedented load and response times.
Effective Anti-Vibration Protection
The LEET™ is able to accomodate up to four 3.5 inch hard disk drives with a total storage capacity of up to 16 Terabytes. Due to its mechanical design, hard disk drives are naturally prone to transfer vibrations to the chassis and components. In the LEET™ HDD cage, all drives are rubber-cushioned and hence, completely isolated from their aluminum surroundings. This solution effectively eliminates vibrations and consequently reduces overall system noise.
The system solely uses Western Digital Red HDDs, designed for 24/7 operations in server environments and RAID configurations. In their respective capacities, they are simultaniously the most energy efficient and quiet models, with almost nonexistent seek noise and excellent vibration levels.
Windows 8 brings along the Windows Storage Spaces utility, designed for efficiently safeguarding your data. Similar utilities have so far only been available for server operating systems.
Depending on the number of HDDs chosen (2-4), Storage Spaces can be configured as a stripe set (100% capacity, no data reduncancy, highest read/write performance), a two-way mirror (50% capacity, 100% data redundancy, regular read/write performance) or parity (~70% capacity, 100% data redundancy, decreased read/write performance). Both two-way mirroring and parity resiliency types will effictively protect data in case one of the HDDs would fail.
Highest Energy Efficiency
All STEIGER DYNAMICS systems exclusively use Seasonic power supply units which boast industry-leading quality and reliability. All our PSUs exceed the 80 Plus Gold and Platinum standards with an electrical efficiency of up to 95% (with Platinum certified PSUs on 230V) and unmatched voltage stability levels. All Seasonic PSUs come with a variable fan management, making them inaudible on idle and low-load levels.
Combined with Intel's speed step technology, total system power consumption is as low as ~40 Watts in idle and low load states, less than a regular light bulb. Stand-by power consumptions is as low as 2 Watts.
These numbers become even more impressive when considering that our systems completely replace a multitude of stand-alone devices like Desktop PCs, Blu-ray players, NAS', home servers, DVRs, Home Automation servers, and gaming consoles. In combination, the total power consumption of these devices would be substantially higher than the consumption of one LEET system.
